Thailand Reports 31% Surge in Actual Investment for Q2 2026
The Board of Investment (BOI) reports that actual capital investment in Thailand reached 255 billion baht in the second quarter of 2026, marking a 31% year-on-year increase.
According to a report from Prachachat Business, Thailand’s Board of Investment (BOI) has released data tracking the 'actual investment' of projects granted promotional privileges. This initiative follows the investment acceleration policy championed by Deputy Prime Minister Ekniti.
For the second quarter of 2026, the BOI recorded actual capital inflows of 255 billion baht, representing a 31% increase compared to the same period in 2025. When combined with the first quarter, the total actual investment for the first half of 2026 has surpassed 535 billion baht.
For residents and expatriates, this surge in realized investment suggests a robust pipeline of industrial and commercial projects, which may lead to increased job opportunities and infrastructure development in the coming months. For travellers, while this economic activity indicates a healthy business environment, it is important to note that these figures represent capital expenditure by firms rather than immediate changes to tourism infrastructure or consumer prices.
It remains to be confirmed how this influx of capital will be distributed across specific sectors and regions, as well as the long-term impact these investments will have on the broader Thai economy throughout the remainder of the year.
