Monk Critically Injured in Collision with Pickup Truck in Nonthaburi
A 65-70-year-old monk was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a delivery truck while crossing a road in Bang Bua Thong.
On the morning of August 14, 2026, a serious traffic accident occurred on the Bang Kruai-Sai Noi Road in Nonthaburi province, involving a monk and a delivery pickup truck. According to Khaosod Online, emergency responders from Bang Bua Thong Hospital and local rescue teams were dispatched to the scene near the entrance of Soi Chai Nam Jamchuri at approximately 6:00 a.m.
The victim, identified as Phra Phinit, aged approximately 65-70 years old from Wat Bang Phai, was found in critical condition. Bystanders were performing CPR when rescue teams arrived to stabilize him before transporting him to Bang Bua Thong Hospital for urgent medical care. The driver of the white Isuzu pickup truck involved in the collision remained at the scene. The driver stated that the monk attempted to cross the road suddenly, leaving insufficient distance for the vehicle to brake in time, resulting in a forceful impact.
