Thai Ministry of Agriculture Targets Rubber Quality Standards

According to a report by Prachachat Business on August 14, 2026, Thailand’s Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Suriya Jungrungreangkit, has issued a directive to address the use of unauthorized chemicals and the presence of foreign contaminants in rubber raw materials. The initiative aims to safeguard the quality of Thai rubber and maintain international buyer confidence in the market.

Sorawut Nuengchamnong has outlined a strategy to implement these preventive measures starting from the upstream production level. The Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT) has been tasked with increasing awareness among producers regarding proper standards. Additionally, the Department of Agriculture is actively accepting reports of malpractice and has prepared inspection teams to investigate potential violations.
