On August 14, 2026, a 61-year-old former director of a sub-district health promotion hospital (Ror Por Sor Tor) in Phatthalung was involved in a serious traffic accident. According to Khaosod Online, the individual was driving a pickup truck that overturned on a sharp curve on the Ban Khuan Thop road in Mueang Phatthalung district. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and struck both a government road sign and a parked private vehicle.
Emergency responders arriving at the scene found the driver with facial lacerations caused by shattered glass. Reports indicate that the driver appeared to be intoxicated, refused to exit the vehicle, and acted aggressively toward officials while using his mobile phone.
