According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, the 2026-27 La Liga season opener between Celta Vigo and Osasuna, originally scheduled for August 16, has been postponed. The match, which was set to take place at the Abanca-Balaídos Stadium, was called off after an inspection by La Liga officials confirmed that a fungal infection had severely damaged the playing surface.
Officials noted that unfavorable weather conditions have hindered efforts to restore the grass, making the stadium unsuitable for professional play. Consequently, Celta Vigo, Osasuna, and the Royal Spanish Football Federation reached a mutual agreement to reschedule the fixture. The match is now set to take place on August 27.
