According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on August 13, 2026, Khon Kaen Governor Khajonkiet Rakpanitmanee has initiated an investigation into 43 individuals suspected of participating in local government exam fraud. The group under scrutiny includes personnel from Provincial Administrative Organizations (PAO), municipalities, and Sub-district Administrative Organizations (SAO).
Governor Khajonkiet stated that the identities of the 43 individuals remain confidential while a committee verifies the facts to prevent potential damage to reputations. The investigation will assess each case individually, considering the current employment status of the officials—whether they are still active, on leave, or have already resigned. Local government executives have been instructed to handle these cases with caution and are encouraged to consult with provincial authorities if legal clarity is needed.
