Fatal Car Accident in Nakhon Ratchasima Claims Life of 19-Year-Old
A 19-year-old driver died after his vehicle collided with a high-voltage utility pole in the Chakkarat district.
On August 13, 2026, a fatal traffic accident occurred in the Chakkarat district of Nakhon Ratchasima province. According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, local police were notified at 11:30 a.m. regarding a collision on Highway 226 (Phet Matu Khla Road) near the Hin Khon Subdistrict Administrative Organization office.
Authorities arriving at the scene discovered a silver Mitsubishi sedan, registered in Nakhon Ratchasima, which had veered off the road and struck a street light before crashing into a high-voltage utility pole. The impact caused severe damage to the vehicle, leaving it in a mangled state. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Mr. Thanakrit, was found deceased behind the steering wheel. Rescue workers from the Hook 31 Nakhon Ratchasima Foundation utilized hydraulic rescue tools to extract his body from the wreckage.
Preliminary investigations suggest the victim was traveling alone at a high rate of speed while heading toward Nakhon Ratchasima city. While the immediate cause of the loss of control remains under investigation, police are currently reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses to determine the exact circumstances of the crash.
