According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a 43-year-old Japanese tourist identified as Yuki was assaulted and robbed by a group of six youths near the Makkasan Airport Rail Link station in Bangkok on the evening of August 12, 2026. The victim, who was visiting Thailand to celebrate his birthday with his partner, reportedly became disoriented and wandered into a dense, overgrown area near the station while attempting to access the rail link.
As he tried to exit the area, he was confronted by six individuals riding on three motorcycles. The group physically attacked the tourist and stole his belongings. The victim managed to escape the scene and sought help from a local citizen, who subsequently assisted in transporting him to a hospital for medical treatment. The incident was later highlighted by a social media user within the 'Grab Car Driver club Thailand' Facebook group.
