LG Thailand Reports Growth in Large Appliance Market Amid Rising Temperatures

LG Electronics Thailand projects a robust 80 billion baht market for large appliances in 2026, driven by prolonged heat and AI integration.

According to a report by Khaosod Online on August 13, 2026, LG Electronics (Thailand) has identified significant growth potential in the domestic large appliance sector. Amnat Singhachan, Head of Marketing at LG Thailand, stated that despite ongoing concerns regarding consumer purchasing power, the market remains resilient as these products are considered essential for daily life.

LG estimates the total value of the large appliance market in Thailand for 2026 to reach 80 billion baht. Key segments include air conditioners, valued at approximately 24 billion baht, and televisions, valued at 19 billion baht. The company attributes this demand to extended periods of hot weather and the increasing integration of AI technology. Consumers are reportedly shifting their habits, conducting more online research and price comparisons before purchasing, and showing a willingness to pay a premium for higher quality and better user experiences.

For residents and travelers, this trend suggests a highly competitive market for home cooling and entertainment technology. LG reported a 10% growth in the first half of 2026, reaching 8 billion baht in sales, and remains on track to meet its annual target of 18 billion baht. While the company is optimistic, it remains to be seen whether the Thai government will implement a 'Shop Dee Mee Kuen' (Shop and Pay Back) tax rebate scheme, which LG hopes will further stimulate consumer spending toward the end of the year.
