Chinese National Arrested in Bangkok Over $50 Million Investment Fraud
Thai immigration police have apprehended a 41-year-old Chinese national in Bangkok, wanted in China for allegedly orchestrating a 50 million baht investment scam involving parking facilities.
On August 13, 2026, Thai immigration authorities arrested a 41-year-old Chinese national, identified as Mr. He, at a luxury condominium in the Huai Khwang district of Bangkok. According to Khaosod Online, the operation was conducted by the Immigration Bureau Division 1 following coordination with the Chinese Embassy in Thailand and the Royal Thai Police Foreign Affairs Division.
Mr. He is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by Chinese authorities. He is accused of illegally soliciting deposits from the public by establishing a private company in Shenzhen. The business model purportedly involved developing and leasing parking spaces in Shenzhen and Guangzhou, where parking demand is high. The suspect allegedly raised over 50 million baht from investors to expand the business before failing to pay dividends and fleeing the country.
