Police Investigation Launched Following Alleged Assault on Deputy Superintendent

According to a report by Khaosod Online, Assistant National Police Chief Pol. Lt. Gen. Surapong Thanomjit has announced that authorities are summoning a man identified as 'Chai-chana' to provide testimony regarding an alleged assault on a Deputy Superintendent. The victim, Pol. Lt. Col. Thanongsak Sawatdikomon, a deputy chief of investigation at Thung Yai Police Station, has already filed a formal complaint for physical assault.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Surapong stated that the incident is being treated with seriousness, emphasizing that the police force will not overlook potential wrongdoing regardless of the suspect's political or social status. He noted that this is not the first time such an incident has occurred and asserted that the act insulted the dignity of the police force. Pol. Maj. Gen. Pornchai Kajornklin, Deputy Commissioner of Provincial Police Region 8, has been tasked with leading the investigation, which includes gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses at the scene in Hua Khuan village.
