State Railway of Thailand Initiates Feasibility Studies for Two New Rail Lines
The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has allocated 392 million baht to study the development of two new rail routes connecting the Central and Northeastern regions.
According to a report by Prachachat Business, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has officially launched a feasibility study for two proposed rail projects. The SRT has invested 392 million baht to evaluate the construction of a line connecting Nakhon Sawan to Ban Phai, and a second line linking Chatturat, Chaiyaphum, and Nong Bua Lamphu.
Anan Phonimdaeng, Governor of the SRT, stated that these projects are intended to enhance connectivity and facilitate both passenger travel and freight logistics between Thailand’s Central and Northeastern regions. The studies aim to assess the viability and potential impact of these routes on regional infrastructure.
For residents and travelers, these developments represent a long-term effort to improve transit options across the country. However, it is important to note that these projects are currently in the study phase. As of now, the final construction plans, timelines, and budget approvals remain unconfirmed.
