Seub Nakhasathien Foundation Challenges Klong Wang Tanod Reservoir Project

The Seub Nakhasathien Foundation has formally challenged a Chanthaburi Member of Parliament from the Bhumjaithai Party regarding the proposed Klong Wang Tanod reservoir project. According to a report by Prachachat Business, the Foundation is pursuing legal action in court to revoke the project's Environmental and Health Impact Assessment (EHIA).

The Foundation’s Secretary-General stated that water management is a state responsibility rather than the role of non-governmental organizations. While the Foundation clarified that it does not oppose drought mitigation efforts, it alleges that the current EHIA contains concealed information. The organization claims that the construction of the reservoir would encroach upon more than 6,000 rai of the Khao Sip Ha Chan forest, potentially causing significant damage to natural resources.
