A couple was injured at a traffic light in Prachin Buri after a detached wheel from a 22-wheel truck struck their motorcycle.
On August 12, 2026, a serious traffic accident occurred at the Wang Tha Chang intersection in Kabin Buri, Prachin Buri, involving a 22-wheel truck and a motorcycle. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, a couple—both teachers—were waiting at a red light on the 359 Phanom Sarakham–Sa Kaeo road when a pair of rear wheels detached from a passing truck. The wheels struck the motorcycle, causing the riders to be thrown from their vehicle and sustain severe leg injuries.
Police from Wang Ta Khian Station reported that the truck's axle bolts had snapped during a turn, causing the dual wheels to break free and roll into the intersection. Emergency responders from the Satcha Phuttham Foundation provided immediate medical assistance before transporting the victims to a local hospital. The truck driver remained at the scene following the incident.
