Khon Kaen Police Increase Security at Wat Pa Adulyaram Following Property Dispute
Police in Khon Kaen have deployed security forces to Wat Pa Adulyaram after a public threat was made to demolish the temple's wall during a televised broadcast.
On August 12, 2026, Khon Kaen police initiated a heightened security presence at Wat Pa Adulyaram, located in the city's municipal district. This action follows a public statement made by a real estate figure known as 'Pa Da' during a live appearance on the television program 'Hone Krasae.' During the broadcast, Pa Da, who represents heirs involved in a land dispute concerning the temple, declared an intention to demolish the temple's wall.
In response to the potential for unrest and public concern, Police Colonel Yotsawat Kaewsuebthanyanit, Superintendent of Khon Kaen City Police, ordered a 'show of force' to prevent property damage or confrontation. Officers are now conducting regular patrols, monitoring entry and exit points, and maintaining a visible presence around the temple grounds on Kalapaphruek Road.
For residents and visitors, the area remains under police observation to ensure the safety of the clergy and the public. While the temple continues to serve as a place of worship, the situation remains sensitive due to the ongoing legal dispute over the land.
