Thai Smile Boat Now Accepts State Welfare Cards

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, Thai Smile Boat has officially integrated the State Welfare Card as a payment method for its electric boat services, effective August 12, 2026. This initiative covers three primary routes: the Green, Purple, and Blue lines.

Worawit Chanchayanan, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Strategy at Thai Smile Boat, stated that this move aims to improve public access to clean energy transportation and reduce travel costs for cardholders. The company currently supports various payment methods, including cash, QR code scanning, the HOP Card, and the 'Thai Chuay Thai Plus' program. By incorporating the State Welfare Card, the operator intends to create a more seamless connection between its electric bus network (Thai Smile Bus) and its electric boat services, encouraging commuters to rely less on private vehicles.

For residents and regular commuters, this development offers a more affordable way to navigate the city's waterways.
