A village headman in Kamphaeng Phet has been ordered to resign following a fatal drunk driving accident that resulted in two deaths and a severe injury.
On the evening of August 10, 2026, a serious traffic accident occurred on the Pa Phutra-Saen Tor road in the Khanu Woralaksaburi district of Kamphaeng Phet province. According to reports from Khaosod Online, a pickup truck driven by a local village headman, identified as 45-year-old Mr. Supat, collided with another vehicle before striking a motorcycle. The incident resulted in two fatalities and left a 14-year-old girl with a severed arm, who subsequently died at the scene.
Following the incident, the provincial governor has ordered a severe disciplinary investigation into the official's conduct and demanded his immediate resignation from his position. CCTV footage reportedly shows the suspect's vehicle continuing to drive after the initial collision before the final impact with the motorcycle.
