Thailand’s PDPC Mandates Enhanced Cybersecurity Measures for Data Protection Officers

According to a report by Thai Post, the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC) has launched an initiative to strengthen cybersecurity protocols for Data Protection Officers (DPOs) across the country. This move follows a recent Cabinet resolution aimed at elevating national data security standards.

As part of these immediate measures, the PDPC is requiring a mandatory reset of usernames and passwords for relevant systems. Furthermore, the committee is actively monitoring the implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to ensure that these security layers are effectively activated. These steps are designed to mitigate risks associated with unauthorized access and to reinforce the integrity of personal data management systems.
