Two-Meter Python Found Hiding in Car in Ayutthaya
Rescue workers spent three hours extracting a large python from a vehicle in Ayutthaya province after it crawled into the undercarriage.
On August 11, 2026, rescue personnel from the Ayutthaya Ruamjai Association were dispatched to a residence in Uthai District, Ayutthaya, following reports of a snake entering a vehicle. The owner of a white MG sedan, bearing Bangkok license plates, discovered the reptile crawling into the undercarriage and immediately sought professional assistance.
According to Khaosod Online, the extraction process proved difficult. Initial attempts to flush the snake out using spray and high-pressure water failed to locate the animal. Rescuers eventually had to remove the vehicle's mudguards and protective under-tray to gain access. After a meticulous search, they discovered the two-meter-long python wedged deep within the vehicle's frame. The team successfully secured the snake using specialized equipment after a three-hour operation.
For residents and travelers in Thailand, this incident serves as a reminder to remain vigilant regarding vehicle maintenance and storage, particularly in areas with dense vegetation. While such occurrences are relatively rare, it is standard practice to inspect one's vehicle if it has been parked for an extended period in rural or semi-rural settings.
