Pickup Truck Accident in Pak Chong Leaves Six Injured
A pickup truck collision with utility poles in Nakhon Ratchasima resulted in six injuries, including a young child.
On August 11, 2026, a serious traffic accident occurred in the village of Sa Nam Sai, located in the Pong Talong sub-district of Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima. According to reports from Khaosod Online Thailand, a four-door pickup truck veered off the road and struck two concrete utility poles, causing them to collapse across the thoroughfare.
Police investigators from the Mu Si station were notified of the incident at approximately 12:30 p.m. Upon arrival, authorities found the black pickup truck severely damaged at the front. The driver, identified as Mr. Jitti, sustained minor injuries. However, six passengers, including a four-year-old boy, were injured and required urgent transport to Mukut Khiriwan Hospital by rescue teams. The impact also caused downed power lines to damage a vehicle parked at a nearby residence.
For residents and travelers in the area, this incident highlights the risks associated with driver fatigue on rural roads. While the immediate cause is attributed to the driver falling asleep at the wheel, the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have yet to confirm the full extent of the injuries or the total cost of the property damage caused by the downed power lines.
