Former Sakon Nakhon Provincial Administrative Organization President Found Guilty of Corruption

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has officially found Chaimongkol Chairop, the former President of the Sakon Nakhon Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO), and his associates guilty of corruption. The case centers on a 2010 project involving the procurement of winter blankets with a budget of 11 million baht.

NACC spokesperson Surapong Inthathaworn stated that the investigation revealed irregularities dating back to November 2009, when Sakon Nakhon declared a cold-weather emergency across 18 districts. The provincial administration requested support for winter relief, leading to the procurement project in the 2010 fiscal year. The NACC investigation concluded that the procurement process was mishandled, resulting in the current ruling against the former official and his team.
