Amulet Trading Scandal: Renowned Dealer Accused of Swapping Gold Artifact

According to a report by Khaosod Online, a controversy has erupted in the Thai amulet community following allegations against a well-known dealer. On August 5, 2026, a woman in her 60s brought 14 amulets to a famous dealer for authentication and potential sale. The dealer offered 2.5 million baht for the collection, which the owner accepted.

During the process, the dealer requested to remove the amulets from their casings for closer inspection. Specifically, he examined a piece the owner believed to be gold. After the inspection, the dealer claimed the item was not gold. However, the owner had previously consulted another expert who confirmed the piece was indeed gold and advised her to keep it safe. Suspicious of the dealer's claim, the owner canceled the sale and retrieved her items. Upon returning to the original expert the next day, she sought to verify the authenticity of the piece she had just reclaimed.
