Chiang Saen Customs Seizes Over 5 Tons of Illegal Frozen Meat from China

On August 11, 2026, the Chiang Saen Customs House in Chiang Rai province officially handed over a large quantity of seized frozen meat to the Chiang Rai Animal Quarantine Station. According to Khaosod Online, the seizure follows an inspection conducted on August 3, when officials discovered undeclared goods hidden among other imported items arriving from China.

The confiscated shipment included 13 types of frozen products, such as pork, chicken, and various offal, totaling approximately 5,200 kilograms. Additionally, officials seized 5,614 kilograms of other fresh food items, bringing the total value of the contraband to roughly 507,608 Thai Baht. The importing company has been reported to the authorities for violating customs regulations, specifically under Section 243 of the Customs Act.
