Minor International Acquires Full Ownership of Bonchon International

Minor International (MINT) has announced a $50 million deal to acquire 100% of Bonchon International Inc., aiming to expand its global franchise revenue.

On August 11, 2026, Minor International Public Company Limited (MINT) officially notified the Stock Exchange of Thailand regarding a significant expansion of its food portfolio. Through its subsidiary, MFG International Holding (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., MINT has entered into an agreement to purchase 100% of the shares in Bonchon International Inc. The transaction is valued at approximately $50 million, or 1.65 billion Thai Baht.

Bonchon International Inc. holds the intellectual property rights for the Bonchon brand across regions outside of the Americas. By securing full ownership, MINT intends to bolster its revenue streams through franchise royalties and brand management. The company expects the acquisition process to be finalized within August 2026.

For residents and travelers in Thailand and abroad, this move signals a strategic consolidation of the popular Korean fried chicken chain under the Minor Group’s extensive hospitality and food service umbrella. While the acquisition marks a major shift in corporate ownership, it remains to be seen how this transition will influence the brand’s operational strategy or menu offerings in specific markets. According to Khaosod Online, the deal involves the transfer of 40,658 common shares. Further details regarding long-term expansion plans or potential changes to the customer experience have not yet been disclosed.
