Dispute Over Land Access at Khon Kaen Temple

On August 11, 2026, a group of approximately 40 individuals wearing camouflage uniforms blocked the entrances and exits of Wat Pa Adulyaram in Khon Kaen with concrete drainage pipes. According to Khaosod Online, the group also posted notices demanding that all structures within the temple grounds be demolished within 15 days, causing alarm among monks and temple followers.

Phra Khru Adulyasarnnithet, the abbot of the temple, stated that the incident is linked to a long-standing land dispute involving multiple plots. The current conflict concerns a final 5-rai plot that remains without a title deed while awaiting judicial review. The temple's lawyer explained that the case has already passed through the Court of First Instance and the Court of Appeal, both of which ruled in favor of the temple. The opposing party has filed a request to appeal to the Supreme Court, and the temple has submitted a formal objection. The matter is currently pending a decision from the Supreme Court on whether to accept the appeal.
