According to a report by Thai Post on August 11, 2026, the Thai government has taken proactive measures to manage potential flood risks. Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has authorized each of the seven Deputy Prime Ministers to access a budget of 100 million baht to respond to emergency water-related situations.
Jateset, representing the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), stated that the agency is coordinating with the National Disaster Warning Center to monitor water levels, particularly in the Northern and Northeastern regions. Authorities have confirmed that systems are in place to alert the public through Cell Broadcast, local loudspeaker networks, and community leaders.
For residents and travelers, this development indicates that the government is actively preparing for potential seasonal flooding.
