NBTC Urges Mobile Users to Update Registration Data by August 30
Thailand's telecommunications regulator is calling on mobile phone users to verify and update their registration information to combat cybercrime.
The Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand has issued a formal request for all mobile phone users to update their registration details. According to Trairat Viriyasirikul, Acting Secretary-General of the NBTC, this initiative is part of a broader regulatory measure established on August 29, 2025, aimed at curbing technology-related crimes and enhancing user security.
Mobile service providers are required to ensure that their subscriber databases are current by the deadline of August 30, 2026. The NBTC is encouraging the public to respond to notifications received via SMS or other official channels provided by their respective mobile operators.
