Suspect Surrenders Following Fatal Attack in Songkhla
A 29-year-old man has turned himself in to police after allegedly killing his mother's partner in a violent incident in Songkhla province.
On August 11, 2026, Khaosod Online reported that a 29-year-old man, identified as Peerapol, surrendered to investigators at the Mueang Songkhla Police Station. He is accused of murdering 53-year-old Winai, the new partner of his mother, in front of a residence in Mueang district, Songkhla.
According to the report, the suspect allegedly stabbed and slashed the victim’s throat more than ten times. He then reportedly seized the victim's .38 caliber handgun and fired three to four additional shots, resulting in the victim's death. Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene but turned himself in after intense police pressure throughout the night. He surrendered with the weapons allegedly used in the crime.
For residents and travelers, this incident highlights a localized violent dispute. While the suspect is now in custody, the scene of the crime—a beauty salon—remains marked by evidence of the struggle, including broken glass and bloodstains.
