Pollution Monitoring Underway Following Factory Fire in Ratchaburi
Authorities are investigating potential environmental impacts after a fire broke out at a motorcycle parts factory in Ban Pong, Ratchaburi.
On August 10, 2026, a fire occurred at the P.S.P.N. Manufacturing Co., Ltd. facility located in Tha Pha, Ban Pong District, Ratchaburi. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the blaze began at approximately 5:30 a.m. and primarily consumed production materials, including paper and plastic.
Following the incident, Suchart Chomklin, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, directed the Pollution Control Department and the Regional Environment and Pollution Control Office 8 to conduct an urgent inspection. Officials are currently monitoring air quality in downwind communities and assessing the site for chemical contamination. A primary concern for authorities is preventing firefighting runoff from entering public waterways, which could pose risks to the local environment and nearby residents.
