Satun Provincial Administrative Organization Faces Recruitment Fraud Investigation
Four out of five recently hired officials at the Satun Provincial Administrative Organization are facing potential dismissal following allegations of examination fraud.
According to a report by Khaosod Online, the Satun Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) is currently embroiled in a recruitment scandal linked to a broader investigation into local government examination irregularities. Taweesak Leksud, the acting permanent secretary of the Satun PAO, confirmed that the organization had requested to hire from a central list of successful candidates to fill eight vacancies in engineering and procurement roles.
Five individuals were subsequently appointed in two batches: three on May 29, 2024, and two on July 1, 2024. Following allegations of corruption in the national examination process conducted by the Department of Local Administration, authorities identified that four of these five new hires are now under scrutiny for potential revocation of their appointments. Officials suggest that while some candidates may have been unaware of the illicit activities, their parents or guardians may have facilitated the process through improper channels.
