Gold Prices in Thailand Surge by 1,250 Baht on August 11, 2026

The Gold Traders Association reported a significant increase in domestic gold prices, reaching 69,900 baht for gold ornaments.

On August 11, 2026, the Gold Traders Association of Thailand announced a sharp rise in domestic gold prices. According to the association's first daily announcement at 9:03 a.m., prices surged by 1,250 baht compared to the previous day's closing figures.

As reported by Khaosod Online, the current market rates for 96.5% purity gold ornaments are set at 69,900 baht per baht-weight for sale, with a purchase price of 67,522.64 baht. Meanwhile, gold bars are being bought at 68,900 baht and sold at 69,100 baht per baht-weight. The global market price, or Gold Spot, is currently recorded at 4,427.00 USD per ounce.

For residents and travelers in Thailand, this volatility is significant as gold remains a popular investment and a traditional store of value. Those planning to purchase or sell gold jewelry should be aware that these prices are subject to change throughout the day based on global market fluctuations. While the association provides these official benchmarks, individual shops may adjust their premiums based on craftsmanship and local demand. It remains to be confirmed how long this upward trend will persist, as gold prices are highly sensitive to international economic conditions and currency exchange rates.
