Large Animal Tracks Discovered in Buriram Durian Orchard

According to a report by Thai Post on August 10, 2026, farmers in the Pa Kham district of Buriram province have expressed concern after discovering large, unidentified animal tracks in a durian orchard. In addition to the footprints, the orchard showed signs of physical damage, including bite marks on tree trunks and evidence of an animal bathing in the area.

The orchard owner suspects the tracks belong to a wild bear, citing past incidents where bears from the Dong Yai forest area have ventured into human settlements and caused injuries to local residents. Due to these historical encounters, the community is feeling uneasy about potential safety risks.

For residents and visitors in the area, this situation serves as a reminder to remain vigilant when near forest fringes or agricultural zones. While the presence of a wild animal is suspected, it has not yet been officially confirmed by wildlife authorities. Local villagers have requested that officials conduct an urgent investigation to identify the animal and implement necessary safety measures to prevent potential harm.
