According to Prachachat Business, the National Committee on Maize Policy (NCMP) has officially extended the existing purchase price announcement for animal feed maize for the 2026/69 production season. This decision follows an inability to finalize a new price structure due to discrepancies in data regarding farmer production costs.
Supajee, representing the committee, has directed the Office of Agricultural Economics, the Farmers' Council, and representatives from the animal feed and livestock sectors to conduct a comprehensive review of these cost figures. The committee has set a deadline of August 31, 2026, to reconcile these differences and establish a new pricing framework. The initiative aims to address systemic issues within the maize supply chain, starting from the seed level.
