WHAUP Reports Significant Q2 2026 Profit Growth

WHAUP announced a 276% increase in net profit for the second quarter of 2026, driven by strong performance in its water and electricity sectors.

According to a report by Thai Post, WHA Utilities and Power Public Company Limited (WHAUP) has released its financial results for the second quarter of 2026. The company recorded a net profit of 532 million baht, representing a 276% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. This performance contributed to a total net profit of 835 million baht for the first half of 2026, marking a 129% growth year-on-year.

Management attributed this financial success to the consistent expansion of the company's water and electricity business segments. Looking ahead, WHAUP has announced plans to continue its investments in clean energy, aligning its strategy with the government's Direct Power Purchase Agreement (Direct PPA) policy and the updated Power Development Plan (PDP).

For residents and expatriates in Thailand, this growth reflects the ongoing industrial and utility development within the country's economic zones. While the company has signaled its intent to focus on renewable energy infrastructure, the specific timelines and the full impact of the new PDP on local utility costs remain to be confirmed. Investors and stakeholders should monitor further announcements regarding how these clean energy initiatives will be integrated into the national grid.
