Laotian Authorities Deport 41 Thai Nationals Linked to Online Gambling Operations
Lao officials have repatriated 41 Thai citizens who were allegedly operating online gambling sites from Vientiane after relocating from Cambodia.
On August 10, 2026, authorities in Nong Khai province received 41 Thai nationals—30 women and 11 men—deported by the government of the Lao PDR. Authorities stated that none of the individuals were identified as victims of human trafficking, nor were any found to have outstanding arrest warrants. The group reportedly received monthly wages ranging from 15,000 to 18,000 baht during their time in Laos.
