Thailand Extends Animal Feed Corn Purchase Price Support
The National Corn Policy and Management Committee has extended the current purchase price support for animal feed corn until August 31, 2026, while calling for a review of production cost data.
On August 10, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Supajee Suthumpun announced that the National Corn Policy and Management Committee (NBPK) has approved an extension of the existing animal feed corn purchase price support measures. This extension will remain in effect until August 31, 2026.
According to Khaosod Online, the decision aims to balance the needs of farmers with the stability of the broader production chain, including the livestock and animal feed industries. Minister Supajee emphasized that while the extension provides immediate relief, there is a significant discrepancy between farmer-reported production costs and official data from the Office of Agricultural Economics. The government intends to reconcile these figures to ensure future pricing policies are based on accurate, mutually accepted data.
For residents and those involved in the agricultural sector, this policy indicates a continued government focus on managing food inflation and supporting rural livelihoods.
