Nonthaburi Prepares for Provincial Administrative Organization Election

According to Khaosod Online, the Nonthaburi Provincial Election Commission is preparing to organize a new election for the position of President of the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO). This action follows the death of the former President, Police Colonel Thongchai Yenprasert, who was fatally shot by Chalong Riewrang.

Chuleeporn Chanbaipat, Director of the Nonthaburi Provincial Election Commission, stated that the law mandates a new election for the vacant position within 60 days of the vacancy, setting a deadline of October 9, 2026. While the position of the PAO President is vacant, the current members of the Provincial Council remain in their roles. The Commission is currently coordinating with the Nonthaburi PAO Permanent Secretary, Nattaphum Nontasirikul, who will serve as the local election director, to finalize the timeline for candidate registration and the official polling date.
