Motorcycle Taxi Driver Recounts Transporting Suspect in Nonthaburi Shooting

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a motorcycle taxi driver was detained for questioning for nearly six hours after transporting Chalong Riewrang, a former Member of Parliament for Nonthaburi, on August 10, 2026. The driver stated he was unaware that his passenger was a suspect in the shooting of Thongchai Yenprasert, the President of the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization, which occurred near the organization's office.

The driver explained that he picked up Chalong near the scene of the incident, with the passenger requesting to be taken to Wat Bang Phraek Tai. The driver remained unaware of the passenger's identity or the preceding violence until police intercepted the motorcycle near the Rattanathibet Police Station and ordered him to stop. The driver noted that the 60-baht fare for the trip remained unpaid.
