According to Khaosod Online, the National Housing Authority (NHA) is currently fast-tracking its 'Homes for Thais' initiative. NHA Governor Taweepong Wichaidit stated that the project aligns with the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security’s goal to provide affordable, high-quality housing. The initiative aims to develop 44,000 units across five phases, incorporating Universal Design principles to accommodate residents of all ages.
Key development areas include Thung Song Hong, Ram Inthra, and Huai Khwang in Bangkok, alongside a senior complex in Chonburi. The NHA is also focusing on utilizing existing land banks and 'sunk cost' properties to generate revenue for public welfare, while integrating clean energy practices into their urban development strategy.
