Gulf Energy Partners with Ministry to Combat Cross-Border Haze
Gulf Energy Development has donated air quality monitoring and wildfire suppression equipment to the Thai Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for use in Myanmar to mitigate regional PM2.5 pollution.
On August 10, 2026, Gulf Energy Development (GULF) announced a collaborative effort with the Thai Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to address the persistent issue of cross-border haze. According to Khaosod Online, the company donated specialized air quality monitoring devices and wildfire suppression equipment intended for deployment in Myanmar.
The initiative aims to enhance the monitoring and control of forest fires in high-risk areas, which are primary contributors to the PM2.5 dust levels affecting both Thailand and Myanmar. This project aligns with the Thai government’s 'CLEAR Sky Strategy.' The equipment was formally handed over at Government House in Bangkok, with representatives including Sitamon Rattanawadee from GULF, Dr. Raweewan Phuridech from the Thai Ministry, and Dr. Taw Naing Oo, Myanmar’s Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, in attendance.
