Medical officials at Phra Nang Klao Hospital, led by Director Dr. Sakol Sukprom, confirmed that Thongchai succumbed to his injuries at 2:36 p.m. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the neck, which caused significant blood loss. A driver for the PAO President was also reported to be in critical condition following the attack.
