Bhumjaithai Party Clarifies Status of Former MP Involved in Nonthaburi Shooting
The Bhumjaithai Party has confirmed that Chalong Riewrang, the suspect in a recent shooting of the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization President, resigned from the party in 2024.
On August 10, 2026, Traisulee Traisoranakul, Secretary to the Prime Minister and registrar for the Bhumjaithai Party, officially clarified the political affiliation of Chalong Riewrang. According to Khaosod Online, the party confirmed that Mr. Chalong submitted his resignation on May 27, 2024.
This clarification follows a violent incident in which Mr. Chalong, a former Member of Parliament for Nonthaburi, allegedly shot and injured Pol. Col. Thongchai Yenprasert, the President of the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization, along with his driver. The shooting occurred near the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization office.
