Krungsri Consumer Reports Strong First-Half Performance for 2026
Krungsri Consumer announced over 196 billion baht in credit card spending for the first half of 2026, driven by online shopping, mutual funds, and beauty services.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, Krungsri Consumer has released its performance results for the first six months of 2026. The company, a major provider of credit cards and personal loans in Thailand, reported that credit card spending reached 196.7 billion baht, marking a 3% growth compared to the same period last year.
Atis Rujirawat, President of Krungsri Consumer, noted that the growth was primarily fueled by spending in the online shopping, mutual fund, and beauty service sectors. During this period, the company added 284,100 new customer accounts, a 4% increase year-on-year. New loan volume reached 47.2 billion baht, also up by 4%, while outstanding loans stood at 134.2 billion baht, a slight decrease of 1%.
For residents and expatriates, these figures reflect broader consumer spending trends in the Thai economy. The company also reported that its non-performing loan (NPL) ratios—those overdue by more than 90 days—remain at 1.1% for credit cards and 1.9% for personal loans, which the company states is below the industry average. While Krungsri Consumer remains confident in achieving a 6% growth target for the full year, it remains to be seen how economic conditions in the second half of 2026 will influence these projections and overall consumer behavior.
