On the morning of August 10, 2026, a significant fire broke out at a motorcycle parts manufacturing facility located in the Tha Pha sub-district of Ban Pong, Ratchaburi. According to Khaosod Online, local authorities were alerted to the incident at approximately 5:45 AM following reports of loud noises resembling explosions.
Emergency responders, including over 20 fire trucks and foam units from various local municipalities and the SCGP Ban Pong factory, were deployed to the scene along the Saeng Chuto road. The fire originated in a warehouse at the rear of the facility. Firefighters faced significant challenges due to the presence of highly flammable materials, including motorcycle seats, sprockets, paper products, and chemical storage tanks. Crews utilized foam to prevent the fire from spreading to the chemical containers, successfully containing the blaze after more than three hours of intensive effort.
For residents and travelers in the area, the incident caused significant smoke plumes and potential traffic disruptions along the main road leading into Ban Pong. While the fire has been brought under control, the exact cause of the ignition and the full extent of the structural damage remain under investigation by local police.
