Five southern border provinces have prepared an 8.9 billion baht project proposal to boost investment, logistics, and tourism, set for the upcoming mobile cabinet meeting.
According to a report from Prachachat Business on August 10, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn recently led a preparatory meeting in Songkhla province for the upcoming mobile cabinet meeting (1/2026). During this session, representatives from five southern border provinces consolidated a series of development projects totaling 8.9 billion baht.
The proposed initiatives aim to stimulate regional economic growth by focusing on three primary pillars: trade and investment, logistics infrastructure, and tourism development. For residents and travelers, this proposal signals a potential shift in regional connectivity and the enhancement of local tourism facilities, which could lead to improved accessibility and new attractions in the deep south of Thailand.
