Police Launch 'Dawn' Operation Against Land Ownership Schemes in Hua Hin
Thai authorities have executed a major operation in Hua Hin targeting illicit land ownership networks involving foreign nationals, seizing assets valued at approximately 300 million baht.
On August 10, 2026, Thai law enforcement launched 'Operation Dawn' in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan province, to dismantle networks suspected of using legal loopholes to facilitate illicit land ownership. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the operation involved over 200 officers from the Provincial Police, Immigration Bureau, and Metropolitan Police, executing more than 45 arrest and search warrants targeting both Thai and foreign individuals.
Led by senior officials including Police Lieutenant General Nopsil Poonsawat, the task force seized 160 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine during the raids. Authorities estimate the value of the assets linked to these alleged fraudulent land holding schemes at approximately 300 million baht.
