Thailand’s Energy Policy Office Studies Floating Solar for PDP 2026

According to Khaosod Online, the Energy Policy and Planning Office (EPPO) recently visited the floating solar project at the Nong Kai Tia reservoir, located within the Sattahip Naval Base in Chonburi. Director Wattanapong Kurovat stated that the visit serves as a case study for decentralized renewable energy production, which is becoming a critical factor in shaping Thailand’s new Power Development Plan (PDP 2026).

As technology and consumer behavior shift toward self-generated electricity, the national grid faces new challenges in forecasting demand and managing reserve capacity.
