According to a report by Khaosod Online on August 9, 2026, the Central Administrative Court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Dr. Sarana Boonbaichaiyapruck, the Chairman of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC). Dr. Sarana had challenged the NBTC selection committee, alleging a lack of transparency, partiality, and procedural irregularities regarding his removal from office.

The court ruled that the plaintiff had not yet suffered direct harm, effectively dismissing the case from its docket. Legal experts suggest that this ruling means Dr. Sarana remains in his position as NBTC Chair, as no royal command has been issued to remove him. The core dispute stems from a 4-0 unanimous vote by the selection committee, which concluded that Dr. Sarana had forfeited his right to the position due to his continued practice as a paid physician after his appointment in April 2022.
