According to a report by Matichon Online, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has arrested a former electrician suspected of a systematic campaign of cable theft. The suspect is accused of cutting and stealing electrical wiring from 120 streetlights, an act that resulted in widespread power outages along affected roads.
Authorities allege that the individual committed these thefts approximately 50 times, selling the stolen materials to fund drug purchases. The total financial damage to state infrastructure is estimated at 10 million baht.
