Funeral Held for Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Ranger Killed by Tiger
A wildlife ranger at Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary has been laid to rest following a fatal tiger attack while on duty.
On August 8, 2026, a funeral service was held for Mr. Sakkarin Wichajarn, a government employee at the Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary in Uthai Thani province. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, Mr. Sakkarin was killed by a tiger on the night of August 5, 2026, while performing his duties. At the time of the incident, he was stationed at a multipurpose pavilion to assist and monitor tourists camping in the area.
During the funeral, Chada Thaiseth, a Member of Parliament for Uthai Thani, presided over the ceremony and provided a 100,000 baht scholarship to the victim's daughter. The event was attended by officials from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Protected Area Regional Office 12.
